What use to be known as StrengthFinders is now the Gallup CliftonStrengths Assessment. With thirty-four strengths, you can now know your top five strengths by taking this assessment.

Reasons to know your Top 5 Strengths:

  • discover what you naturally do best
  • learn how to develop your greatest talents
  • live your best life
  • improved self-awareness
  • able to explain who you are to others
  • improve your performance

Gallup CliftonStrengths Assessment has been around for some time. The Gallup organization interviewed millions of top performers from around the world asking them open ended questions. With all the information they gathered, this test is one of the most accurate to date – that I know of.

After reading Marcus Buckingham & Don Clifton’s book, Now, Discover Your Strengths, along with Tom Rath’s, StrengthFinders 2.0, I took this assessment and changed my life.

I’m not saying to not take the Myers-Briggs, or the DISC, the Jungian Archetype tests, or even know your astrology chart. Definitely do everything you can to learn more about who you are. Out of all these,  the Gallup CliftonStrengths Assessment is the only one where you pay but it’s also the only one that I know of which withstands the test of time (aside from astrology).

How I Use the CliftonStrengths Assessment

Even though I have multiple sclerosis (MS) which is known as one of the most debilitating neurological disorders; we spoonies are no different than any other human being. We have a personality, strengths, hopes, dreams, ambitions, and everything else healthy folks have.

1) Futuristic

With a very detailed vision of the future and all the possibilities ideas can bring, I instantly begin with the end in mind which is one of  Dr. Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. When talking with people about their dreams, goals, and ideas; it helps them knowing there’s someone else who see’s it as possible. Here, I focus on possibilities while leaving probability to the average status quo minion who will never do anything worth talking about.

Authorpreneur Academy will publish 100 million bestselling authorpreneurs.

The Wellness Fair will be globally recognized as the premier health & wellness referral source.

2) Input

This is related to the Jungian Archetype, The Sage, also know as The Wise Old Man. Because of this, I believe, is where my animosity to the American Education System comes from; I hate it because they preach lies. With input, I only care about facts, not your feelings. When I want to learn something, I nerd it out and research for hours, sometimes weeks to years. Once I find real world facts, I wisdom share that information at every applicable situation.

Authorpreneur Academy has over 100 modules and hundreds of hours of training in each program.

The Wellness Fair has a guest blog, trainings for business owners, and events to share wisdom.

3) Strategic

I’ll find loopholes, read in between the lines, connect the dots forward, and troubleshoot the hell out of anything. I love feedback and asking for opinions in every area. I may not do exactly what people say, but hearing the voice of other people’s opinions sparks different trains of thought for me to come up with other ways of doing things. I read rule books to know exactly how to break the rules in front of authority figures and not get busted because “I’m not breaking the rules.” It’s the same as driving, you can get to the same destination traveling down a variety of different paths.

Authorpreneur Academy went from very short video lessons, to long lessons, and now in the process of having consultants deliver bits of information in logical order. This happened in order to get 100% of students to do what they need to to be successful.

The Wellness Fair went from two fairs a year to one to increase attendance. We went from 20 speakers an event to five for the same purpose. We added monthly events, and speaking conferences to increase our local visibility to get more attendees.

4) Focus

Even though I’m told I’m a “fire, aim, ready” person, I am most definitely a “ready, aim, fire.” It’s just that when I’m “firing”, I am still “aiming” and getting “ready.” When I tell myself, or someone else tells me, to achieve a certain outcome; we both know it’s already on done deal dot com. When I start something, I finish it. There is nothing in this world that will get in my way from accomplishing something I set out to do.

Authorpreneur Academy has been in the planning phase for over a year now with another few months before reaching out to consultants. Even though it already has many students in it who already became bestselling authors, I’m focused on accomplishing the vision my futuristic strength came up with in my minds eye.

The Wellness Fair is a beast with it’s desperate need for my intense focus and attention. The website have over 190 pages as of today which is a tiered membership website. To make this spiderweb of complexity flow simply and easily, focus is needed.

5) Significance

I love being on stage in front of a room full of people. I love being interviewed by journalists and podcasts. I go out of my way to help others. By implementing Input and Strategic, this will for sure bring the Significance aspect into my world.

Authorpreneur Academy will get me the recognition by being the one who interviews all the consultants in every lesson. Even though I know how to do everything good enough, I’ll be seen as the expert in it all because I’m getting the information from experts.

The Wellness Fair will get me recognition here in Milwaukee, WI because it’s a local business. It will also bring international notoriety once we begin our expansion.
